One of four players named a team captain by his peers … injured his thumb in the second half of the season opener against FBS national runner-up Oregon … missed four games and returned to the lineup to start the final seven games of the season at quarterback … completed 13 of 26 passes for 136 yards against the Ducks (8/30) … threw for 1,593 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games … completed 52.8 percent of his throws (142-269) … had three rushing touchdowns … passed for a season-high 295 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (2 rush, 2 pass) against national runner-up Illinois State (11/15) … also threw two touchdowns against Western Illinois (11/8).

Named Dave Triplett Offensive Player of the Year (USD award) … started the final eight games of the season at quarterback and played in 10 games overall … won his first three collegiate starts … completed 165-of-314 passes for nine touchdowns and nine interceptions … rushed for three scores and 129 yards … finished second in the MVFC in passing (210 ypg) and total offense (218 ypg) in conference play … had an efficiency rating of 107.64 a completion percentage of 52.5 … threw for 370 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more scores in an overtime win at UNI (10/19) … threw a touchdown pass on the final play of regulation to force overtime … was named a College Sporting News National All-Star and earned MVFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts … added a second 300-yard effort (325) and a touchdown against South Dakota State (11/16) … threw two touchdowns and ran for another vs. Youngstown State (11/2).

One of 12 redshirt freshmen who lettered in 2012…saw action in three games and threw passes in two of them…completed 11-of-16 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in a backup role and in his collegiate debut at Indiana State (10/27)… touchdown pass was an 11-yard strike to Will Powell…was 2-for-5 for 25 yards in late-game action at South Dakota State (11/17).

Redshirted his first year as a Coyote…Earned Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week honors prior to the Eastern Washington game.

One of the top ranked quarterbacks in the state of Illinois…posted a 21-2 record as a starting quarterback for coach William McNamara…as a senior went 11-1 by completing 107-of-207 passes for 1,715 yards and 12 touchdowns…earned all-state honorable mention, all-area and all-conference honors…as a junior went 10-1 by completing 78-of-139 passes for 1,491 yards and 15 touchdowns
